APPLICATIONS
Dedicated Digital's SMART TRANSFER CAR ("SMAR-T-CAR") is an intellegent material handling system that transports caseloads of finished product or work-in-process without involving any manpower at all. Thats right! From pack-out, through stretch wrapping and labeling, to your shipping department, and ready to ship, all without any labor costs.

The SMAR-T-CAR is a series of powered conveyors that are linked together with a computer. One or more of these conveyors mount on a transport car that moves on a track between the rest of the conveyors, loading and unloading cases of finished product or material at the command of the computer.

Therefore, if you need supplies at a workstation, the computer issues a command to the transport car telling it to travel to the appropriate staging conveyor and transfer the load of material onto the car. The car then moves the material to the proper workstation for unloading. If you need a case of finished product transported to the shipping department, the operator simply presses the CALL button. This sends the transport car to the correct pickup station, transfers the case of finished product onto the transport car, then redirects the transport car to the exit conveyor, where the case is off-loaded for stretch-wrapping, labeling, or any other pre-shipping finish process, then to the staging area for shipping, where it can be forklifted onto a truck.

All this material handling is done without incurring any labor costs beyond maintenance and cleaning, and that's where the savings really add up..
