- The ACCU-FILL filler system is a computer controlled,
servo-motor driven, two stage pump and fill system that is designed to accurately fill
containers of product at a rate of 10 to 12 containers per minute. The ACCU-FILL is
capable of filling containers to the thousanth of a pound. It achieves
this speed and accuracy by using two stages, the first for volume and the second for
finishing. The ACCU-FILL is adaptable to any low or high viscosity product that can be pumped through
a positive displacement, rotor type pump. So whatever your product, the ACCU-FILL by
DEDICATED DIGITAL means an end to inaccurately filled containers being shipped to your
customers.
- The ACCU-FILL by DEDICATED DIGITAL uses unique and proprietary software to control a
dual pump system that meters precise amounts of product into the final, shippable
container at production speeds of up to 12 containers per minute for 40 pound fills with
an average fill accuracy of +/- .005 lb. or better for most materials.
- The ACCU-FILL automatically tracks and compensates for variations in specific gravity,
viscosity, quality control rejections, sample pulls, head pressure differential, or any
variation that would normally effect product fill weight.
- The ACCU-FILL system is pre-programmed with the products that you fill. Job change-over
consists of simply pressing 2 keys on the operator terminal. The controller automatically
sets all pump and line parameters when you select the job, including the type of product
and container size.
- The ACCU-FILL will even compensate for air pockets in the piping. If an air pocket
causes the container to weigh light, the ACCU-FILL automatically gives it up to two
additional top-off cycles in an attempt to bring the container up to target weight. If the
third top-off cycle is unable to finish the container, the controller displays an error
message to the operator and the line is stopped to allow manual intervention.
- The product filler valves for the ACCU-FILL are air actuated and controlled by the same
central processor as the pumps. The valves are timed to open and close in synchronization
with the fill profile. During the fill cycle, the filler valves open slightly before the
pumps begin pumping, and close slightly after the pumps stop. This almost entirely
eliminates drips at the filler head and improves final product appearance to the customer.
This method of valve control reduces the line pressure in the piping, significantly
extending the life of seals and connections.
- The main advantage of using the ACCU-FILL by Dedicated Digital is that it pumps a
precisely metered amount of product reliably and repeatably into the final shipping
container. The first stage, which rapidly fills the container to within 95% of its
capacity, consists of a large Waukesau pump that is driven by a 20 hp. vector motor. The
second stage 'tops off' the container using a small Waukesha pump driven by a 2.7 hp servo
motor. This stage can only pump a small amount of product per cycle, but in as much as it
is only for 'top offs' volume is not as important as precision. Stage II is where the
ACCU-FILL attains its money saving accuracy.
- As an example; If you fill 10 fifty pound containers per minute, and you run 20 hours
production per day, you would ship (10 containers per minute X 60 minutes per hour X 20
hours=) 12,000 containers per day. If you ship only one tenth of a pound overweight on
average, you are giving away 1,200 pounds of product each and every day. The savings
quickly add up. If product selling price is 50 cents per pound, your savings would be
$600.00 per day. One of our customers was previously shipping containers an average of .43
pounds overweight. At .43 pounds overweight, the savings totaled $2,580 per day with a
product selling price of only .50 cents per pound! Many products cost much more than .50
per pound!
