| You are here - APS Vehicle Mount - Press Release | Battery Eliminator - V3.02 |
| U.S. Patent Number 5,886,883 | |
| When
your lift-truck operator is changing NiCads, your lift-truck is non-productive also. |

- This system, which mounts directly on the lift truck, converts the
main battery voltage (up to 39 volts) to a clean 7.2 volts supply that will power any
barcode scanner or similar terminal, and in the process, it eliminates the battery. It
does not, however, require any permanent change to the piece of equipment that it powers.
It also has no noticeable effect on the charge cycle of the main lift truck battery.
- Dedicated Digital designed the APS to be effective over a wide range of input power, and
deliver from 6 volts to 12 volts of output power. Other voltages are available upon
request. This means that practically any battery-powered device you are currently using in
your lift truck operation can be adapted to the APS.
- Typical current drain from the lift battery is 80 milli-amps depending on the equipment
or terminal you are powering.
- Your operators will no longer stop in the middle of a job because their barcode terminal
requires a fresh battery. This alone will significantly increase both lift truck and
operator productivity. The drain on the main lift truck battery is hardly even measurable
because most battery powered devices run on very low amperage.
- The APS has many advantages over conventional NiCad battery power, and each of these
advantages translate into direct cost savings for your operation.
- This also reduces the chances of running out of fully charged and conditioned NiCad
batteries for your terminals. And, dont forget. the less you use your batteries, the
fewer batteries you have to buy. At standard battery use rates, operating on a five day
workweek around the clock, the return on investment is less than a year.
- The fewer times the terminal is handled, the less likely the chances for an accident. At
the cost of barcode terminal repair, this alone is a money saver.
- The APS is designed to work without the NiCad battery in the circuit, but any time you
want to restore portability, simply remove the APS and replace the battery and you are
back to your original walk-around terminal.
- Dedicated Digital also has a model for the APS that is adaptable to gas powered lift
trucks with 12-volt electrical systems.
- You had the wisdom to convert to a barcode driven inventory system, you now have the
ability to switch to a more economical method of powering the equipment that you have come
to depend upon.
